Ingredients

  • 12 wonton wrappers (can usually be found in the produce section of the grocery store)

  • 3 T butter, melted

  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar

  • 3/4 cup Mascarpone cheese (can substitute cream cheese in a pinch)

  • 1 tsp orange zest (optional)

  • 3 cups fresh strawberries, sliced

  • Whipped cream

  • Fresh mint leaves

Preparation

  1. Brush one side of wonton wrapper with melted butter, flip and brush other side.

  2. Place brown sugar in a bowl or small plate; press each side of wonton into sugar to coat.

  3. Press wontons into a well greased mini muffin pan.

  4. Bake at 325 degrees for 7-10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.

  5. Remove to rack and let cool.

  6. To make filling, combine the cheese, honey, orange juice, and optional zest.

  7. Place about 1 T of filling mixture in each wonton.

  8. Top with 2-3 slices of strawberries each.

  9. Add a swirl of whipped cream and a mint leaf for garnish.
