Daybook, not

I'd like to say that this will be a daybook post, but there are too many other things on the list of to-do's today.

Yesterday was a rough day for our family. I won't go into details here, but let's just say we are not immune to the troubles that plague many families. I could have lost a lot of sleep last night, but I was able to surrender the day's troubles and get the rest my body and mind needed. I'm so thankful for that fact.

This morning, John and I continued a teaching series on Right Now Media entitled Destinations. We do these studies nearly every morning together. We learn and grow so much through all the studies we've done together. This series, as with all the others, affirms what we already know but often times need to learn how to apply in practical ways. I can't encourage you enough to go and check out any series, especially any done by Andy Stanley. He has become our favorite go-to teacher.

That list is beckoning so I must go, but I hope if you happen upon these words here in my corner of the blogging world you will hear me when I say, if you do not change the direction you are headed - you will end up where you are going (not may as the popular quote says, but will). Take time to evaluate where you are in life. Be honest with yourself when you look at where you are headed. Is it where you want to end up? If it's not, you must change directions, which means you must take action. Passively staying the course in a direction leading where you do not want to end up is choosing that destination. It might require hard things to change course, but it will be worth it in the end.

Are you on any paths that you don't want to be on?
