The name of the blog came about when my best friend reminded me of my own mantra -
keep it simple, Susan.
The purpose of the blog, in part, came about in my attempts to live out what Jesus says are the two greatest commandments,
love God, love people.

Ultimately, it's because
I needed a place for all the parts of me.

so...

It's most likely a happy accident that you found your way to my little corner of the blogging world, but I'm happy you're here. I love to write - a love affair that began in elementary school when a teacher helped her first grade student turn a story she wrote into a screenplay and direct her classmates in performing it for the rest of the school.
I started blogging in 2006 strictly as a hobby to help process life and ideas and, quite frankly, to keep from going a little bit crazy bumping around in my own headspace. This is where I still write to process all those parts of me - and maybe get a little crazy after all.

Welcome!

The Eclectic Cook
The Eclectic Cook. That's me, the one who prepares food to eat using ideas, styles, and tastes from a broad and diverse range of sources. My love language is food, and I'm fairly fluent, or so I'm told.
Cook definitely fits me because I am not in any way professionally trained in this area. Just a serious love for all things food, and a deep love for people that makes me want to nurture them mind, body and soul through good food.
You won't find much original here, if anything at all, truth be told. I've collected recipes my whole life and tailored them to fit our personal preferences or what ingredients I had on hand at the time.
My motto has always been, if you feed them, they will come! Hope you find something here that makes you hungry.
