Hello! Today is:

SEE WHAT'S NEW!

Keeping it Simple and Using the Tools

Back to the basics. What's for dinner, Mom? Well, let me tell you what is for dinner this week.

Today - Ravioli with meatballs and sauce and fresh baked french bread

Tuesday - Old Fashioned Beef Stew - my favorite recipe from Taste of Home and fresh baked loaf of bread

Wednesday - Bulgogi

Thursday - Creamy Chicken Asparagus over Puff Pastry Cups

Friday - Homemade Pizza!

Saturday - hmmm, banquet at a conference my hubbie and I will be attending so I guess this one is on Sarah or Amanda :-)

Menu planning is such a vital tool. I have no idea why any of us who eventually have to decide - what's for dinner - fail to use such a simple yet helpful tool. Having that menu means knowing what you're cooking (or what someone else needs to cook), having ALL the ingredients on hand, making sure that anything that needs thawed it taken out in time to do so. This also helps with grocery shopping because if we make the menu plan before the shopping list then we can include it all and won't be making as many last minute trips to the store to get "just a couple things" that result in coming out of the store with three bags of groceries only to get home and discover you forgot the "couple things" you went after in the first place and then calling for pizza delivery because now the plan is just blown - sighhhhh.

I'm not lecturing anyone who might be reading this and feeling guilty - I'm giving myself a good talking to :-)

It really is time to get back to some of the basics - and I have a new tool box full of new tools and I am so excited about getting to work. My boss has a lot of great plans for me - his name is Jesus. Do you know him?
