Pray first!
Lesson learned. I know this lesson. I know it well. Sometimes I have to be reminded.
I made an impulsive decision without taking the time to think it through, talk it over with my husband and most of all without taking the time to pray about it. I didn't do my homework and I trusted all the "feelings" I had about it being the right decision to be the truly right thing to do. But... thank God for his mercy, I had the opportunity to correct my decision before it became a major issue and hurt a lot of people. My path has been corrected and the peace it brought me made me know - this - this is the right decision for our family, for my daughter.
The details aren't important in this story; what's important is the lesson learned and it can be applied to every decision I ever have to make. The big decision require more time, more prayer, more peace as a sign that it is the right one.
Even this stormy cloud had a silver lining. I found a new friend. And recently I have been seeing the focus on relationships, especially friendships with other women. We need each other and as we get older we begin to realize just how much we really do need genuine, honest friendships.
Blessings,
Susan
