Be encouraged
If you are sad today, be encouraged.
If you are scared today, be encouraged.
If you have a child who is depressed and you are worried that they might hurt themselves, maybe even choose to end their own life, be encouraged.
If your marriage seems like it's lost all hope of being the kind of marriage you once dreamed of, be encouraged.
If you are lonely, be encouraged.
If you are paralyzed with anxiety over your finances, be encouraged.
If the news and social media makes you so angry your blood boils in your veins, be encouarged.
If you struggle to stop obsessing over thoughts that constantly rob you of your peace, be encouraged.
If you wake up to a body that you hate and are afraid you'll never change that, be encouraged.
If someone you love has been taken from your life and the grief is so thick and so deep you can barely breath, be encouraged.
If you or someone you love has been diagnosed and death is nearly inevitable, be encouraged.
If you just can't seem to take the next step, whatever it is, be encouraged.
Whatever it is in your life that seems to be a wall between you and peace, know that there is reason to be encouraged. There is a way to experience joy, even if circumstances don't change.
I never really understood the scripture, "Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus." But now I do. But it doesn't happen on accident. God never put the auto-pilot on our lives. At no point did he say, go and do whatever you want and I will take care of everything. There are many, many things that we have to do and he has given direction for what those things are we are to "do".
