Living with resilience - right where you are, with what you have

Welcome to The Sourdough Social Club
Practical Homesteading & Homemaking
Learning to live with resilience—right where you are, with what you have.
This is our cozy corner of the internet where sourdough meets simple living, and curiosity meets community. The Sourdough Social Club is currently in pre-launch as we explore interest in local, in-person gatherings here in the Metro East area of Illinois. If you’ve ever dreamed of learning sourdough, living more simply, or building practical homemaking and homesteading skills—this might be the perfect fit for you.
We’re in the “is anyone else out there?” stage—and if you’re reading this, the answer might just be yes.
While we feel out the possibility of monthly meetups, the online side of the club will continue to grow with blog posts, printable resources, seasonal reflections, and shared wisdom for those longing to live a little more rooted.
The Sourdough Social Club Is for You If...
You’ve watched chicken TikToks or sourdough Reels at midnight
(well, anytime really because we just - can't - stop!)
You dream of a big garden while holding your HOA notice
You’ve Googled whether quail would be happy in a garage
You’ve started a sourdough loaf, then accidentally made pickles, crackers, and kraut the same weekend
You’ve tried a pantry challenge just to see if you could
You own more glass jars than matching socks
You feel oddly called to bake bread, sew aprons, grow herbs, and mend things
You love your smartphone and wonder if you’d be happier without it
You’ve said “I just want to live on land with all my people” but also own a tidy little home in the suburbs
You’ve priced out freeze dryers, grain mills, and goats—just for fun
You think goat yoga might actually be your vibe
You love the idea of living with less but also adore your kitchen gadgets
You’ve stayed up reading about herbalism, composting, or off-grid cabins
You want to create a slower, richer, more connected home life—but you’re not sure where to begin
If you’ve wandered down any of these rabbit trails (or all of them), you’re in the right place.
