Is it really October 15th!!!???

I can't believe how quickly time is passing. Each year I hope to hold off just a bit longer before my very favorite season of the year starts spreading it's gorgeous blanket of colors. I never feel quite ready to enjoy it fully and this year is no different. I love waking up to a cool morning, windows open and a mist hovering over the field behind our house and enjoying a hot cup of coffee! Today there was a beautiful breeze blowing the leaves off the trees creating the occasional Autumn blizzard and the skies were filled with the kind of clouds you most appreciate on a day in October. The late afternoon brought a steady heavy downpour that cried out for a pot of soup on the stove.

I didn't make the soup but I sure loved this day. I tried a new recipe tonight - salmon cups with lemon sauce. They were well received but I wasn't entirely impressed. I would rather have had salmon chowder.

I am contemplating my next written project. I am thinking about creating Menu Planning 101 for our next group meeting. Still just in the 'thinking about it' stage. If I put it together I'll probably post it here or on Pascual's Kitchen.
