I'm at the kitchen/dining room table doing my normal morning routine. A little later than usual because it is Saturday after all. Always looking for the organized thoughts that I want to write here and as usual they totally elude me. It's like the universe doesn't want me to blog! I can write morning pages till my fingers fall off, but when it comes to my blog, nope. It just disappears - all that good stuff in my head.
So I turned to my morning page journal and it started flowing out. It occurred to me, never mind, I'll just do something like my morning pages here instead. Maybe that will get the juices flowing. So...
I have started the new habit of adding the weather information for the day to my MP (morning pages), and as I once again had to write 90-something for the high today and for a good portion of the week ahead, it just aggravates me!!! This is crazy! It's ninety-something degrees - has been for a week or ten days and forecast for several more days this week. It's SEPTEMBER for Pete's sake!!! Seriously, know when to go weather. If it is no longer summer, and we can't enjoy summer time things like the pool, vacation or beaches, then hasta-la-vista baby. It's time to give way to some Fall weather. But you know what I suspect will happen instead? Winter. Boom. Just like that. The season and weather will be so short it will be like a vapor, like a fart-in-the-wind. Poof! Just like that.
Yesterday there was a meme on Facebook that made me laugh out loud. It was too true. It was a picture of many of us, when we realize according to the calendar today is the first day of Fall!! Yay - get out the jackets, the scarves, our favorite cozy boots, put away all the summer time spices and replace it with a big tub of pumpkin spice everything. Open the door with warm cup of PSL ready to enjoy a crunchy walk in the fallen leaves and crisp cool air... and boom. But wait, it's not that winter has arrived too soon, it's that summer WON'T LEAVE!!! It's ninety degrees out and you just started to melt on your door step. Back inside, slamming the door shut and hoping the next day will bring relief.
Oh well. Today it's off to finish painting a room at my daughter's house. Time to get things situated for a baby's arrival in a few months. :-) Then I plan to come home and get a little crafting going with my crew. Pallet crafts, painting, whatever works. We'll see how that actually goes...
On a side note - I pulled The Message off the shelf Thursday during bible study. I was looking for a variety of translations for a particular passage we were reading and The Message was one I grabbed. I had forgotten how much I actually enjoy the contemporary language. I realize it's not for everyone, and I wouldn't want it to be the only translation I ever read, but it sure does make scripture easier to grasp for a simple minded person like me. Well, I don't know if you would consider me simple-minded; I actually comprehend what I read pretty well. I just like the balance of translations so I can get a better picture of how it's applicable to me, today. Just a preference I guess.
Maybe I'll be back later today or later this weekend at least. Hoping there will be a lot more writing happening in the near future. It's my plan, but when wasn't it? LOl
See ya,
Sam
