Hello! Today is:

SEE WHAT'S NEW!

Big things come in small packages

Delilah Rose.  That’s her name.  She is beautiful.  She is healthy.  She is precious.  Welcome to the family little Lila.  She may have a lot of nicknames.  :-)

I am so thankful we were able to drive to Florida and arrived in time for her to be born.  We were afraid for a while that we would arrive only after she would be born.  Sarah’s labor was so extended - days and days.  She ended up waiting for the induction date of Monday, November 20.  Sarah wrote more about the details on her baby blog. I’ll try to add a link to that at some point in this post.

I created a blog just for our family, but I haven’t been using it.  Some things I’ll duplicate here on my blog, others I will not. Pretty much because I don’t know where to start. In my very type A brain, it seems difficult to just start in the middle.  There’s part of me that has the urge to go back to the very beginning and catch up in a very orderly fashion.  But where is the beginning?  Is it when John and I met?  When we married?  When we had our first baby? Or is it when John was born?  Who knows.  I’m trying to throw out the rule book and just start somewhere.  Stories will come to me over time and I’ll add them.  The magic of technology - I can always create a chronological timeline as I go with labels.  Awesomeness.

November has been busy.  Well, really October and November.  Well, wait - really when did it start rolling?  Maybe like September - isn’t that when Lindsey had her shower?  Maybe even earlier.  I know that when I stepped up to the threshold of October, I was facing the downside of a mountain and I was part of the snowball that was getting shoved over the edge...  I knew it was coming.  I could see it.  We all did.  Living it and envisioning it are two very different things.  And we’re not at the bottom of the mountain yet.  There are still many big things on the horizon.  Wonderful, spectacular BIG things.  And I look forward to them all.  I’ll let my goal be to come back and write about them here.  Let’s see how this goes, yeah?
