Small Circle People

 

We are a big family by today's standards, yet we are small circle people. We often wonder if there's something wrong with us, but when we peel our onion, we realize there is nothing wrong with us at all. We have simply discovered the value of investing in a few relationships really well, and when you invest well in those few, it leaves very little room for investing in the rest. 

Isn't this what our mamas always told us? It's not the quantity of friends you have that matters, it's the quality of the friendships you do have. And we are fortunate, indeed, to have those kind of friendships, the kind that withstand the test of time.

Still it's not always easy being small circle people. I'm going to ponder this a bit. I'll come back and write some more thoughts if they come to me.
