Nah, let's begin in the heart of the home - the KITCHEN

Okay, so this kitchen actually belongs to someone.  It's not just a model kitchen I found on a website.  As you may or may not know, I am a long-time faithful Taste of Home subscriber.  Years ago in one of their Kitchen Makeover articles I discovered this kitchen.  I immediately fell in love with it.  I cut the pages out and added them to our "dream book" and kept it tucked away safely.  No kitchen I've ever seen has remotely measured up to this kitchen.  I simply love it.  I feel at home in it just looking at the photo!  It belongs to a Navy family.  As a stay-at-home mom who loved to cook and entertain she and her husband designed their entire home around this kitchen space.  I can understand why.  I've looked and looked and looked through house plans and magazines and realtor.com to find a home that is anchored by a kitchen like this.  They don't exist as far as I can tell.  Well, as we started to get serious about finding property and building our dream home, I realized I couldn't locate the dream book.  I tried desperately to locate it to no avail.  Then I looked online many times in hopes it would be archived on the Taste of Home site.  No such luck.  But the key to the whole thing was remembering a phrase used in the article - a pass through window - and voila!  I found it!!  I'm one happy camper folks.

So, now WE get to design OUR dream home inspired by this beautiful kitchen.  I asked my FB friends to help and I kept hearing Pinterest!  Yep, I took to plowing through the Pinterest boards of my friends - thank you!

So excited!  I think it might actually happen this time.
