Day #4 of Christmas
It's Sunday and our house is still a mess, seriously. There has been improvement but it seems to have shifted rather than disappeared LOL. In fact, I'm having my morning coffee at the high top in the front room because I can't find the surface of either my desk or the kitchen table.
I'm dressed and ready for church. It's still quiet in the house - imagine that :-) Everyone around here sleeps well into the late morning unless they have someplace they must be. Me? Not so much. I like the earlier mornings and these days when I sleep to eight o'clock or later are not my finest days. I prefer the long, quiet solitude of the early morning to enjoy coffee and sit with God. I have my favorite meditation books that help me focus on a good attitude for the day ahead. I started memorizing scripture earlier this year and hope/plan to continue doing so.
We will miss our pastor who just left us this past week. Both the lead pastor and the music minister and their families are moving to the East coast to "plant" a church - in Connecticut? (SMH) I pray for them - for us, the church family left behind to try and fill the shoes of a very gifted teacher. I fully trust that God has it all under control. It's just difficult because making the change from catholic mass to non-denominational services was not an easy decision or one made lightly. It's all a journey...
