Hello! Today is:

SEE WHAT'S NEW!

I guess you could say I've come a long way.  I could never have imagined ten years ago that I would be that mom who insisted on praying with my daughter in the car on the way to school every single day, but I am that mom.  I have discovered a way of living that really brings prayer to life for me.  I pray often, constantly actually, and I pray from my heart with my own words and although they lack eloquence and beauty they are genuine and heartfelt.  They are the cry from my soul to God that He remain present with me and I with Him.

Making the change from being a homeschooling family to a private school family came without much notice.  About this time last year I realized that what we were doing wasn't working and something had to change, and so it did.  Our youngest daughter now attends a private Christian school and I provide transportation to and from each day.  My prayer life begins first thing when my eyes open with a prayer of surrender - this I learned in 12 step program and it is vital to my daily spiritual condition.  My conversation with God begins from that moment on and carries on throughout my day.  I spend time in daily devotionals and time in my bible each morning, nearly without fail.  I'm starting to memorize scripture because I definitely decided I want to be A Girl with a Sword.  I realized earlier this month that at the time when I get up in the morning for coffee with God it's still dark out side and the stars are bright on a clear morning.  I love my new early morning habit.
