When it seems like too much...
In response to a text message (including photos of the piles growing at her home) my sweet daughter sent me on the day she called in to work because she is in so much pain from a back issue:
S: "This is what happens when mama is down for the count"
Me: "Yes, yes it is. But it is just stuff and the stuff will wait. Take care of yourself now and you'll heal faster. That stuff will be there for the rest of your life for one reason or another. You'll either learn to maintain your sanity through it all or you won't. I can tell you from experience - learn to maintain your sanity because keeping up will always be one step (or a thousand) ahead of you. Don't let it steal your joy, ruin your mood or cloud your perspective of the truly important things in your life, which happen to be people not things. Ask God to shower you with peace and then believe He will. Ask for what you need from the people who love you. They cannot read your mind."
Good advice for anyone, wouldn't you agree?
