Hello! Today is:

SEE WHAT'S NEW!

For Those Who Love 4Real Learning as Much as I Do!

I had a chance to read Elizabeth's posts for the past couple days and she had a lovely post about how to have the perfect day. In her post she included a list of wonderful 'apple' books. I just wanted to shout out my addition to her list, it's one of my very favorite books of all time. In fact, I read it to my oldest daughter when she was in grade school. The book was out of print for a long time but I was able to get a copy for her last year for Christmas. They reprinted them! I was so happy to see that they even included the original illustration for the front of the book (updated but still the same). I purchased two copies - one for Sarah, my oldest, and one for Rachel, my youngest. Here's the link: Apple Tree Christmas

My weakness, like many I know, is books, books, books! How can loving and cherishing something so wonderful and nurturing as books be a bad thing I ask you?

As I read through Elizabeth's post I couldn't help but recognize the similarities between her perfect day and one described by my dear friend on her blog :-)

Our trip to Eckerts, our local orchard, was not quite so wonderful this year. The weather played cruel tricks on our peaches and apples this past spring. As Rachel says, we went apple 'baggin' this year rather than apple pickin'. Our dream is that one day we'll go apple pickin' in our own back yard!
